MONITOR NEWS Manchester and it’s Place in the History of Computing were two of the Company’s Past Masters: Sir Brian Jenkins and Dame Stephanie Shirley. Recent years have been witness to further anniversaries. On 5th December 2012 the 50th Anniversary of the Atlas computer was celebrated at Manchester, for which Simon Lavington had produced The Atlas Story and conducted a video interview with Dai Edwards and the engineer Yao Chen. More celebrations followed on 21st June last year, the 65th Anniversary of the Baby computer, for which Google had conducted interviews and made a video.
