YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE WCIT CHARITY Page 4 Members’ Donations & Fundraising 2012 Legacy £20,000 Total: £214,465 These are an amalgam of some figures on page 2 In 2012 we were very grateful to receive a bequest of £20,000 from Anita Loveday, an early Freeman of the Information Technologists and later a Liveryman. Anita died in 2011 after a career, similar to that of many members, which reflected and contributed to the development of commercial IT from zero to ubiquity in a lifetime. Legacy giving is a Livery tradition and can be a tax-efficient way of supporting our Charity. Continuous Charitable Giving (CCG): £27,809 Continuous Charitable Giving is a great way to support the WCIT Charity. Members currently give between £10 and £200 per month and many thanks are due to all in the scheme. Committed giving is extremely valuable to us because, if we know funds are coming in, the Charity can plan ahead with confidence. The annual Golf Society Charity Day delivered a very generous contribution of £3,378. Panels and Committees making a surplus kindly contributed a large sum this year, including £2,000 from the Entrepreneurship Panel, for which many thanks are given. One member gathered together a group of WCIT members, and also leading IT entrepreneurs, persuading them not only to share their business secrets but also contribute £1,395 to our charity, which is much appreciated. Panels and Committees make huge contributions of pro bono effort, including to Education, the Arts and Public Welfare, which is not included in the financial analysis, but is, nonetheless, greatly valued by the Company and the community.
