Whitley Bay Cricket Club – Player Handbook 2014 CODE OF CONDUCT JUNIOR AND SENIOR MEMBERS Whitley Bay Cricket Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its Senior and Junior Members. The club believes that it is important that all Members associated with the club should, at all times, be encouraged to be open and show respect. Members should feel able to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with the Club Chairman. As a member of Whitley Bay Cricket Club you are expected to abide by the following guidelines: 1) Respect and maintain the integrity, laws and spirit of the game of cricket at all times. 2) Uphold the values of the club, as identified in its charter and in accordance with its aspirations. 3) Conduct themselves, both on and off the field, in a manner which enhances the reputation of the club and supports the team captain. 4) Play within the rules and respect opponents as well as officials and their decisions. 5) Act safely and responsibly at all times whilst representing the club. 6) Show care and consideration for other users of the grounds and facilities. 7) Pay any subscriptions or fees promptly. 8) Show commitment to training and competitions and inform their coach or team manager of availabilities promptly. 9) Wear suitable attire for training and match sessions, as agreed with the club. 10) All players shall assist, when asked, in preparation of Teas on match day. A maximum spend of £5 per player should be used as a guideline. 11) Show commitment and contribute to the broader development of the club by supporting club initiatives such as the Bar / Cleaning, Fundraising, and Social Events. 12) Show commitment and contribute to all preparation and installation of the cricket facilities and equipment throughout the season. 13) Report all accidents, safety-related concerns, however minor, to the Committee. 14) Keep the grounds and facilities tidy and discard all waste materials appropriately. 15) Do not operate or interfere with any equipment or apparatus associated with the existing field unless authorised to do so by a team captain. 16) Do not smoke in the Whitley Bay Club House or any building facility under the clubs control. 17) Junior members, under 16, are not allowed to smoke on the club premises or whilst representing the club 18) Junior members, under 18, are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.
