McCartney and Starr listen regularly
and often phone in to his broadcasts.
To create Chris Carter’s British
Invasion, Carter joined forces with
“Little” Steven Van Zandt (Bruce
Springsteen’s bandmate). The
program, which airs on SiriusXM
Satellite Radio, can be heard
nationally during Little Steven’s
Underground Garage weekend broadcast on Channel 21. It features classic
hits, seldom-heard album tracks and
rarities, and exclusive interviews.
While growing up in Wayne,
Carter played drums in Schuyler
Colfax Middle School, then switched
to bass guitar at Wayne Hills High
School. He co-owned Looney Tunez
Records in the Packanack Lake
Shopping Center, which became a
meeting place for local musicians
and television legends including the
Ramones, Ian Hunter and Uncle
Floyd. “We were a big part of the
New Jersey culture then,” Carter says.
