Dr. Atlas, a member of the teaching staff at North Shore LIJ-Staten Island
University Hospital since 1997.

profession. Dr. Atlas’ office is equipped with everything from digital X-rays and
lasers to a computerized injection system that instantly eliminates the fear of
needles.
A strong believer in continuing education, Dr. Atlas typically exceeds annual
requirements by five times, along with maintaining membership in the Academy
of Comprehensive Esthetics. He has appeared on the Consumers Research
Council of America’s Top Dentists list for the past ten consecutive years.
Dr. Atlas has been awarded the Doctor of Excellence award for 2013-2014 by
the International Association of Dentists organization. He was named "Top Doc"
by NJ Total Healthcare Resource and was elected by Trademark Who's Who, Top
Doctor Honors edition for 2014-2015.

DR. MARK H. TERRY
After many years in practice, Dr. Mark H. Terry still finds that the greatest part
of practicing periodontics is the interaction and personal connection he
develops with his patients. “I really enjoy working with my patients and referring
doctors,” states Dr. Terry. “I have grown fond of each individual, getting to know
their life stories and journeys.”
Dr. Terry is a strong proponent of educating patients about periodontal
disease and discussing all possible treatment options for reconstructing and
replacing lost teeth and keeping the lines of communication open with the
referring dentist. The result is a sound comprehensive plan with the greatest
longevity for success.
This positive, proactive approach is evident as soon as a patient steps into the
state-of-the-art facility. The relaxed, personalized setting is a source of pride for
Dr. Terry and his staff. They share a mutual respect and genuine rapport,
creating an environment where patients feel relaxed.
His credentials alone could put patients at ease. A graduate of Temple
University School of Dental Medicine, he was awarded a certificate in
Periodontology from the VA-Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s post-graduate
program. Furthering his studies, he received a degree from the prestigious
Misch Implant Institute in Michigan.
Outside the office, Dr. Terry is an active part of his community. He serves as
Chairman of the Board of Managers of the Wayne YMCA, a position he has held
for three years. He is also past president of the Passaic County Dental Society
and has lectured extensively on periodontal, prosthetic and implant topics.
