HOME
SCALING DOWN
After many years of living in a
colonial home with a big yard and
lots of maintenance, Weinstein
moved to the Four Seasons condominiums in Wayne, and sifted through
years of accumulated possessions.
“You have to be ready to move,” she
says. Beautiful décor doesn’t just happen, but is carefully orchestrated with
attention to color, furniture and a
total look, she notes.
Weinstein recommends taking
down all family pictures and getting
rid of everything that will not serve a
purpose in a new home. “Keep only
what you love or can use,” she says.
“Don’t buy anything new. Just scale
down. Your new house can’t look like
your old house, but it can still be
wonderful.” ➤
