china but is the perfect showcase for the Lladro
statues she’s collected during travels in Spain.
Upstairs, over the garage, is where the old
house ends and a new spacious master bedroom
suite begins. Custom Roman shades and a blueand-white button tufted re-upholstered antique
chair are accents in a room dominated by a dark
cherry sleigh bed with an old cedar chest at its
foot. Surrounded by vintage chests of drawers
and a sitting area with a couch atop a modern
rug design, their traditional style becomes slightly
eclectic as they successfully mix old and new.
Their bathroom is big enough to dance in, on
a floor of randomly placed Candia Valpanaro
Di Cava Bardiglio ceramic tiles specially
imported from Italy. A soaking tub off to one
side and an over-sized glass and tile shower
stall with rain showerhead on the other still
leave room for a private toilet room within the
bathroom and a double sink, all surrounded
by blue and gray glass tiles that expertly accent
oversized wall tiles.
All new windows installed across the front of
the house and siding to match work together to
present a seamless silhouette of this old and
newly-renovated living space. ■
