ROOM TO GROW The original bedroom
(above) was expanded to create a rustic
suite that accommodates a larger bed and
a chifferobe from the 1700s.
plaster headboard wall and seams in the side wall logs
reveal that this bedroom was once made bigger. With
storage space at a premium, Grace chose furniture that
fits the theme but also meets their storage needs. A tall
chifferobe that dates back to the 1700s adds space for
folded clothes, and an old shipping box and retro leather
travel bags serve as additional storage cases.

The Scuttaros use the second bedroom as their home
office. A rag-style rug made with tied leather strips invites
you into this room with cedar closets and a box table
with lift up top for storage. A drop leaf desk stands in
the warm light of a red glass starlight table lamb, and
an iron and red glass floor lamp with drop-beaded
silken lampshade. ■
