APPLIANCE UPGRADE Marrying form and function, the couple replaced old
cabinets and appliances (above) with upscale stainless steel ones, a cast iron
stove from Ireland and charming hand-scraped and resurfaced woodwork by
Joe Scuttaro.
A four-season enclosed porch with a heavily grouted brick
tile floor opens up into the living room through a log-framed
glassless window and open doorway. A one-of-a-kind coffee
table is made from half a door with hinges still intact. An end
table with wrought iron legs and rimmed wine barrel top
complements the natural fieldstone of the sunporch wall.
In the light-filled eat-in kitchen, a concrete countertop
is made to look like natural rock with its chipped edging.
