Meet Finance Director,
LISA WHITE
Ms. White has been very successful in all areas
of finance and will work closely with the Town
Manager to manage the Town of Waxhaw’s fiscal
responsibilities and to prepare for the future during a
time of tremendous growth and development.
She brings a wealth of municipal background
experience having worked as a Finance Director in
Mauldin, South Carolina; Greenwood County, South
Carolina and more recently in Hendersonville, North
Carolina. Each organization received the GFOA
Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial
Reporting during her tenure. Her experience includes
budgeting, financial reporting, debt management,
investment management, payroll, accounts payable,
accounts receivable, banking, risk management,
procurement, and capital asset inventory.
Currently serving as the Finance Director in Hendersonville, NC, Ms. White manages all city wide
financial activities and supervises a staff of sixteen. She has worked with bond attorneys, financial
planners and credit rating agencies on municipal debt issues and will be able to bring that experience to
the Town of Waxhaw. “I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to making Waxhaw my
new home,” stated Lisa.
Ms. White earned a Bachelor’s in Accounting at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, Houston, TX and
has been a Certified Public Accountant for twenty years. Committed to continuing education, she was
recently certified as a North Carolina Certified Government Finance Officer in 2017.
She has two adult daughters, Jenna and Julie, and enjoys serving as a volunteer in the community she
lives in.
