R EGIST ER YOU R DOG W I T H PET DATA
The Town of Waxhaw wants to remind you there’s no time like the present to license your dog - and
now it’s easier than ever! Not only could licensing your pets be their ticket home, you are also required
to license your dogs with the Town of Waxhaw.
Purchasing a license tag and attaching it to your dog’s collar is one of the most important things you
can do as a responsible pet owner. Displaying a current Waxhaw license tag on your dog’s collar
makes it easy for animal control officers and shelter employees to quickly locate a lost pet’s owner
information.
The Town of Waxhaw encourages spaying and neutering. Remember, all dogs over the age of 4 months
must be licensed. License fees for spayed or neutered pets are $15 for a 1-year registration. Fees for
un-altered (not spayed or neutered) pets are $20 for a 1-year registration.
New for 2019! Licenses purchased after August 2019 are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.
Proof of rabies vaccination is required, and proof of spay or neuter is also required, if applicable.
Also new – beginning in August 2019 – your dog’s metal license tag is now permanently assigned,
and should be worn on the collar at all times. When renewing your dog’s license in 2020, you will
not receive a new metal license tag unless a replacement tag is specifically ordered at time of renewal.
Replacement tags are $4.20.
Waxhaw residents now have two ways to license pets – online or by mail.
To register online, go to www.PetData.com and enter your zip code under License Now. You can
register multiple pets at the same time, and easily upload required documents. All major credit cards
are accepted, and a small convenience fee will apply per transaction.
To register by mail, simply mail a copy of your dog’s current rabies certificate and any other applicable
documentation, along with your check payable to “Waxhaw Dog Licensing” to “Waxhaw Dog
Licensing, C/O PetData, PO Box 141929, Irving, TX 75014”.
