The Sagamore Basin Stormwater Treatment Areas Project
Veterans Memorial Water Quality Improvement Project
This project includes the design and construction of two stormwater treatment areas to enhance water quality before it flows to the St . Lucie River .

The City has received a Florida Department of Environmental Protection grant of $ 838,230 for this project . In addition , the City has received a $ 1,051,770 Indian River Lagoon grant from the South Florida Water Management District for this project .
This project includes the design and construction of stormwater treatment ponds and structures in three phases .
The first two phases , which are complete , consisted of two outfall control structures and two wet retention ponds to reduce nutrients to the North Fork of the St . Lucie River .
Phase three will include the construction of a stormwater treatment pond . Planned start date : Oct . 1 , 2024 Planned completion date : Sept . 30 , 2025 Budget estimated : $ 1.1 million
