Last but not least was the final rock race. This included lapping the dirt short course with all of the whoops and jumps, transitioning to the rock crawling course where the competitors had to complete 3 of the major obstacles once during the 5 lap race. Strategy was key here. Take the non-obstacle laps early and take a big lead, or get the obstacles out of the way and then flash the last two rounds to the checkered flag? The classes were set up the same as the rock crawl with UTV, Stock, Legend, and Unlimited. Everyone was evenly matched up, although most of the stock rigs decided that rock racing wasn’t in their cards. Finally when everything was said and done, the fat lady had sang her song, and the trophies were lined out on the table. The awards ceremony recognized the top three places for each rock crawling class, top three places for the rock race, and then the top three places over all.
