One of my favorite stories at
Christmas time is Rudolph the
Red Nosed Reindeer. As a
child I was captivated by the
mythical Island of Misfit
Toys. If you recall the story,
each year on Christmas Eve
the toys would wait by the
fire hoping that this would be
their lucky year. Santa would
come and choose to rescue
them. They would be taken on
Santa’s sleigh, carried safely to a
home and forevermore be loved. As
‘feel-good’
stories go, this one has a happily-ever-after
ending. Rudolph tells of the Island of Misfits, and at the last moment
Santa appears and every toy on the island ends up in the arms of
a
