Bellevue-based Planetary Resources is capitalizing on the growth of science
and technology companies in Washington to develop the Arkyd-100, the first
private space telescope. The tool will be used to help identify asteroids worth
mining for common elements in rocket fuel. The hope is that asteroids can
be mined for these elements and the materials used in space fuel depots
for space travelers.
Sabol also chilled out with Kent’s hottest chainsaw craftsman, Steve Cox of
Creative Ice. If you attended AWB’s Policy Summit this September at Suncadia,
you’ve seen his work firsthand. His hand-sculpted works of art have become
the finishing touch at a wide array of events around the state.
