Residents Protecting Montgomery
hosted the first ever Town of Montgomery
Community Day on Saturday at Benedict
Farm Park.
Guests of all ages were treated to free
food. The event offered hamburgers,
hotdogs, cupcakes, coffee and much, much
more. Those in attendance also enjoyed
farming demonstrations, a raffle and live
music. Talented musicians showcased
their skills on guitar and a digital piano.
Children got to enjoy face painting,
bobbing for apples and a pie eating contest.
Throughout the day, many youngsters
were caught smiling from ear to ear.
This event was an excellent opportunity
for Montgomery residents to meet
members of their community. Several
political candidates appeared at the event.
Residents Protecting Montgomery held
the event as a respite from the stress
caused by the two proposed warehouse
projects.
“We just wanted to have a little
celebration of our town because it’s so
diverse and wonderful,” said Karina
Tipton, co-chair of Residents Protecting
Montgomery.
The event was sponsored by a number
of Montgomery’s local businesses
including Froehlich Farms, Iron Cafe
and Twin Ponds Greenhouses. Those in

“I think it was awesome,” said Nick
Fitzpatrick, who attended the event. “It
seems like everyone is really happy and
everything’s going great. I hope they do it
again next year.”
