3 Wallkill Valley Times, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 Ex Walden mayor to chair Mount Saint Mary Board Charles Frank, an IBM executive and former Walden mayor, has been elected chair of the Board of Trustees of Mount Saint Mary College. Frank has served on the Mount’s Board of Trustees since 2012. He has also served as the Chair of the Board’s Finance Committee for the same period of time, and was elected as Vice Chair of the Board in 2014. He succeeds Dr. Albert J. Gruner, who served as the Chair since 2012. “I am very excited to set a course for the Board of Trustees governed by our collective commitment to the Mount, our heritage of strong Catholic Dominican educational values and our high standards of academic rigor,” said Frank. “We will also resolve to ensure a consistent and transparent level of communication with everyone who cares for this College.” “I’m so deeply committed to the valuable education provided to the students of the Mount because I was not able to take advantage of these same opportunities growing up,” said Frank. “In fact, my family is ‘all in’ at the Mount. My wife is an administrator, two of our daughters have graduated from here and our third is starting her freshman year.” Frank is a seasoned business executive with more than 35 years of experience in the information technology industry, with most of that time with IBM, and a great deal of his efforts focused on Higher Education. He currently holds the position of Solutions and Business Development Leader within IBM’s Global Alliances organization. In addition to his extensive business development, sales and IT experience, he has dedicated much of his life to community service. Free tech tutoring at Gardiner Library The Gardiner Library will be offering free one-on-one Tech Tutoring on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer.
