Raymond said that a total of 12 reports are required to be sent each year – ranging from financial reports to audits - and that only six of the 12 had been filed. “As soon as I get Brad [Conklin, board president] and John [Xanthis, interim superintendent]’s signatures, they’ll be ready to go,” Raymond added. Board member Rod Freeman asked if the failure to file was noted by an external audit, and if not that, why the district’s internal audit didn’t pick up on it. Conklin said former Superintendent Richard Hooley, who left in September to take a job with Dutchess BOCES, had noted in a “management letter” that the reports weren’t filed. Conklin didn’t explain why action wasn’t taken at that time. The revelation comes at a time when the state is allowing tax levies in next year’s school district budgets to surpass last year’s tax levy by only 0.12 percent. Finding the money to replace the lost aid could crush next year’s budget, Freeman feared. Already, the d
