Maggie Moore puts a finishing touch on Side Effects. Caitlin Winstead and Jack Starnes enjoyed some Water Glass class success. Vic Gernt grinning up a storm (yep it really is Vic) with his new horse. Lexi Nelms and Miss Sarah Allen who were the first two people I saw in center ring tonight ???? Mr. Charles Tisher and Larry Martin!!!! Both gentlemen were there to witnesses the Maiden as they had heard so much about this special class for untried two year olds! Bring ‘em on!!!!!! A few things different about the Maiden class are: first through 10th will each receive two ribbons, one for the exhibitor and one for the owner. The Maiden reserve Champion will receive $3375, a belt buckle and a cooler. The Maiden Champion will receive $5000, a Trophy Belt Buckle for the trainer, Wire Works from Rod Cleveland, absolutely gorgeous Crystal Owners Trophy, a gift certificate for a Pelican Tail, Custom made saddle pad from Lux Looks, a gift certificate for a bag of Purina Out Last and a bag of MannaPro Max E Glo Rice Brand. The horses enter the ring one by one to thunderous applause as each person declares their favorite, from high number to low number. Once all the entries are on the rail, the riders find their positions and the show is on. And what a show it was! The audience is loud with applause for their favorite. Folks, all these two year olds looks so good making it a tough decision. All of the judges were in complete agreement that this was the best class of two year olds EVER assembled!! And the winner is a unanimous decision of the judges and most of the crowd, Jose’s A Twist of Gin, shown expertly by the young, talented, professional BJ Richards. BJ and Twist put on a show as they got their spot on the rail when they came in and never gave it up. B J kept his position on the rail —— out of everyone’s way —-and showed his horse expertly. It was a performance that won’t soon be duplicated. A Twist Of Gin is NOW proudly owned by Patti Pollack. Patti is in California due the the dang COVID 19 and we surely are missing Patti and Sherry! Congratulations on the purchase of this fantastic young horse. The entire night was filled with excitement and good horses. The quantity was not as good as the previous two nights but the quality made up for the fewer number of horses. Don’t misunderstand me, there were horses in every class just not 10 to 20 for each class. We were thrilled with the number that came through the gates and hope it continues tomorrow. Laid down about 12:38. DAY 4 Dragging around a little bit this morning, guess I am feeling the effects of excitement and long nights. When I get in the bed I’m still tieing the horses and thinking how good they were before I can drift off to never never land. 13
