Salzkammergut Region
There is an old Austrian folk song that says that ‛ there is no more beautiful country in this time’ and applies to the Salzkammergut region. Zugspitze
Mount Zugspitze at over 2,962 m is the highest mountain in Germany and easily reached by cable car. During your walking week, you walk around the base of the mountain and see the summit from different angles. You will cross gorges with water gushing from the narrow and rock walls while contrasting quiet Alpine pastures allow you to enjoy typical Bavarian specialties such as ‛ Brotzeit’.
