FYI: The 360 is a collaborative story that is anonymously written throughout the month by various writers in our network. Each writer adds 360 words to the story, then passes it on for another to continue. The results are one-of-a-kind, and often hilarious!

Anyway, this story isn't about my parents; it's about me. There was a girl I needed to see tonight, and nothing - not even the king and queen of the Seven Kingdoms - was going to stop me. I mounted my dragon in one swift movement, and Rhaegal launched himself off the balcony.

I watched her leave the castle and grunted, annoyed that I would have to follow her. There wasn’t much that I could do, having been employed by the Queen herself to keep an eye on the Princess. But still, a man could yearn for a full night’s rest that did not involve flying out at such a late hour. Did she think she would not be missed?

Kairoun nudged me softly, as if sensing my irritation. Sometimes I thought that my dragon knew me better than I did myself… Probably he did. Being an orphan in this part of the Seven Kingdoms hadn’t offered me much more than petty crime when I was younger. I guess,

looking back at it now, it had taught me fearlessness and survival as well. Those were handy, but it had been genealogy that saved my hide when the Queen found me amongst the dragon eggs, one in hand, about to run off.

I should have been dead, but here I was, mounting Kairoun, about to shadow the Princess. I chuckled, detecting only mild bitterness. I may as well be dead...
