E astlake North High School’s teachers and staff took the Homecoming theme to a whole new level this year by not only chaperoning the dance but dressing the part! Led by Student Council co-advisors, Mallory Lane and Amy Cvelbar, the theme of “Emerald City” was brought to life. Ms. Lane and Mrs. Cvelbar approached principal Jen Chauby who embraced the idea and they had no problem finding teacher and staff volunteers to dress as Dorothy (Intervention Specialist, Mallory Lane), the Tin Man (Intervention Specialist, Amy Cvelbar), Munchkins (Assistant Principals: Steve Hertrick and Jeff Lyons), The Wicked Witch (Principal, Jen Chauby), the Good Witch (Guidance Counselor, Lindsay Lane), the Cowardly Lion (Principal’s Secretary, Cathe Besselman) and the Scarecrow (Math Teacher, Bryan Bain). Mallory Lane said that “everyone was very excited and the students had a blast. The students loved to see the staff dressed up; they were complimenting all of us all night about how great it was and they wanted to take pictures with us. Everyone had a ball! We even had a few dance offs and the teachers were involved in the line dances. The best part was that all of the students behaved wonderfully!” I am extremely thankful for my supportive and caring family and husband, and my funny, sassy, precocious two-year-old old Ellie. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with, educate, and learn from the students in my classes. They challenge and inspire me daily. Erin Cramer, Intervention Specialist Eastlake Middle School Congratulations to North’s Homecoming king and queen: Mike Ranallo and Lexi Febres and congratulations to North High’s faculty for going the extra mile to put smiles on their students’ faces! “I have so much to be thankful for. My husband died 5 years ago and I am so thankful for my children and my parents. I did not have a job at the time so I am thankful that I have a job…” “I am thankful to have a job that I love. It is nice being in high school to see my former students growing up and seeing how well they are doing…” Judy O’Neill, Project Assistant- Welding
