Dear Readers,
I know many of us have read Louise Hay, she has always been a champion of thinking positive and affirming good thoughts. I thought I was pretty much a positive thinker, till last week I realised not really, I do encourage negative thoughts that it is more out of habit than awareness.
I have been trying and trying to get my back hand shot in my tennis perfectly, no avail, my Coach has been firm and patient, telling me again and again to lower the racket. Why would this be so hard? It’ s only a matter of mind. But every time I rally in my need to connect the ball I simply forget my stroke and hit out. Till I was so disapproving of myself, that I took a break sat down and spoke to myself forget everything else, it ' s ok if you don ' t connect, no pressure, just lower the racket and see what happens, I detached myself from the results, just played with this single aim and There! I could see myself connecting the ball and sometimes even placing it. I was overjoyed.
The next day, I was back to square one, I forgot how to lower my racket and do a follow through. After some moments of rebuking myself I caught myself again, worked on thinking how I could talk to myself more constructively. What I do realise time again is, it takes a long time to break negative habits, we do it so unconsciously and blissfully too, we need to realise that it takes time, it takes patience, it take consistence and most importantly it takes love for self.
Watch how you talk to yourself.. Is it with impatience? Are you your worst critic?? If so learn to be gentle with yourself, it makes you feel better, and be more happier too.
