MEET

Your Next Meeting Destination

Sitka may be remote, but it’ s not off the map. Our island town offers a rare mix for meetings and events: the quiet of a retreat and the infrastructure of a full-scale conference destination. Sitka provides the spaces, services, and scenery to comfortably support gatherings of up to 250 guests.
The community of Sitka is perfectly set up to comfortably host group anywhere from 5 to 250. Most recently we have hosted, the Alaska Travel Industry Association’ s( ATIA) annual convention and trade show to Sitka, the biggest conference of its kind in the state. The Southeast Conference Economic Summit also convened here, marking its 67th annual meeting. And each fall, Sitka WhaleFest, hosted by the Sitka Sound Science Center, brings together scientists, artists, and the public for a science symposium and community celebration of marine life.
EVENT SPACES
At the center of downtown is Harrigan Centennial Hall, with seven flexible meeting rooms and a 4,127-square-foot auditorium overlooking Sitka Sound. Fully equipped with teleconferencing and furniture set-up, it’ s the anchor venue for large-scale events.
For shoulder-season gatherings or multi-day retreats, the Sitka Fine Arts Camp offers a historic campus just minutes from downtown. Venues range from the Odess Theater and the Sitka Performing Arts Center, to smaller meeting rooms, with on-site dormitory housing. As one organizer put it, Hosting here also supports the Camp’ s mission to provide arts education for students.
For meetings that seek a stronger sense of place, the Sheet’ ká Kwáan Naa Kahídi Tribal Community House offers a downtown waterfront setting designed to celebrate and share Tlingít culture. It’ s an inspiring venue for gatherings that want to connect participants with the heritage of the region.
