You may choose to purchase optional coverage from the rental agency to provide protection should you be involved in an accident while driving a rental vehicle. Renters should check with their own insurance provider to determine if the insurance coverage on their personal automobile extends to a rental car before making any decisions about any optional products to purchase. Examples of optional insurance products include: -Collision Damage Waiver — covers the cost of damages to the rental car if the vehicle is involved in an accident. -Personal Accident Insurance — covers medical and ambulance bills for the rental car driver and passengers. -Supplemental Liability Protection — covers the cost of damages to a third party. -Personal Effects Protection — Covers personal items in the rental car. 12. Anyone who is driving a vehicle with more than 12 passengers must be a professional driver who possesses a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). 13. Commercial vehicles without seats, such as flatbed or panel trucks must never be used to carry passengers. 14. Girl Scouts Western PA follows the Pennsylvania State guidelines for safety belt requirements. Pennsylvania’s Safety Belt Law requires all drivers to securely restrain children 8 years of age or older but under 18 years of age in a seat belt system.  All drivers transporting children four (4) years of age or older but under eight (8) years of age are responsible to securely restrain those children in a seat belt system and an appropriately fitting child booster seat.  All children 12 and under must be in the back seat.  Securely restrain children eight (8) years of age or older but under 18 years of age in a seat belt system. 15. Each driver and front seat occupant of a passenger car, truck or van shall wear a properly adjusted and fastened seat belt system. (Seat belts are the law.) 16. 15 passenger vans, with or without the last row of seats, are not permitted under any circumstances. 142
