Millions of small and significant contribution flowed into PM CARES Fund, TSP Times highlights a few for the country to applaud and appreciate. As a part of steps to make more resources available for COVID-19 relief measures, the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, after contiributing one month's salary to the PM-CARE Fund in March, has decided to forego 30 per cent of his salary for a year, The President has given instructions to the Rastrapati Bhawan to set an example by economising the expenditure, making optimal usage of resources, and dovetailing the saved money to combat COVID- 19 and mitigate the people's economic plight. TATA SONS AND TATA TRUST contributed Rs.1500 Crore towards PM CARES FUND. The Statement released on Twitter read, "We appreciate the PM CARES FUND initiative to address the unprecedented effects of COVID-19. As always , we remain fully committed and united in support of nation" Tata Trust contribution will be Rs. 500 crore of the total donation. "The COVID-19 crisis is one of the toughest challenges and we will face as a race.... At this moment, the need of the hour is greater than any other time." Wipro Ltd, Wipro Enterprises Ltd and Azim Premji Foundation have together committed Rs.1,125 crore towards tackling crisis arising from the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in India. “These resources will help enable the dedicated medical and service fraternity in the front-line of the battle against the pandemic and in mitigating its wide-ranging human impact, particularly on the most disadvantaged of our society,” Wipro said in a statement.
