The 8th Romanian " Ian Donald ” Course
Al XII-lea Congres Națíonal de Medicină Perinatală This will end up with disturbed apoptozis at the level of syncytiotrophoblasts and the process will end up insufFicient fetal perfusion .
Fort his reason , LMWH together with salysilic acid are critical in this type of pathologies in order to suppress the thrombotic events and not to prevent materno-fetal interface inFlammatory processes which will result in fetal hypoxia and perinatal complications .
R3 Metabolic Infrastructure of Pregnant Women with Trisomy 21 Babies ; Metabolomic Analysis
M . Sinan Beksac Division of Perinatology , Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology , Hacettepe University , Ankara , Turkey
Aim : To conFigurate impaired / altered metabolomics proFile in pregnant women with Down syndrome ( DS ) babies .
Materials and Methods : This study was consisted of 21 and 32 pregnant women with DS and aneuploidy fetuses respectively as a result of prenatal screening and diagnosis within the framework of antenatal care program of Hacettepe University between January 1 , 2014 and April 30 , 2015 . Metabolomics analyze was carried out by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry ( GC-MS ). As a result of metabolomics analysis based on GC-MS , 95 metabolites were identiFied .
Results : Results of GC-MS ; 2-hydroxybutyric acid , benzoic acid , nonanoic acid , 3- hydroxybutyric acid and 2-ketoisocaproic acid were found to be increased in DS group while metabolites such as beta-alanine , threonic acid , oxalic acid , creatinine , alpha tocopherol , uracil and 2-piperidone were found to be decreased .
Conclusion : We have shown that DS and control groups have different metabolomics proFile from each other and altered variables might be used in the prenatal screening of DS .
