Verum

Look up to the night sky, and see the stars,

The sun seems eternal, yet one day will fade,

We think we move on, whilst death creates scars,

A knife lodged deep with poison on the blade.

We believe that time will erase the past,

We all choose to wait, to accept our fates,

Day after day, our lives turn more aghast,

Despite that, all we do is lock the gates.

The truth isn't the truth if told by liars,

Love isn't real if granted by haters,

Life is a stage that never quite expires,

All we do is play our part as actors.

Some say, stars won't shine without the darkness,

I say, be the dark that makes the stars shine,

Beauty cannot be seen without ugliness,

And the humans, they form the divine.

You cannot forget, you cannot forgive,

And if you are to be judged, then so be it,

Head high is how life is meant to be lived,

On your knees, bare your back, and take the hit.
