BLUEPRINT

Bless the architect who curled intricate lines into a blank space. Breathed life into it and called it black girl, the blueprint. A walking paradox, a soft woman and an unstoppable force, bendable yet unbreakable.
Bless the woman who curated the art gallery called life. Created moments, enabled them with words, the blueprint. Her evolutionary art is often imitated, always uncredited, working overtime for a world that pays her dirt.
Bless the mother who gave up living to nurture everyone else. Marched against every injustice, then told to forgive her oppressor. Bless the daughter who broke herself to fit in or fought to stand out, survived against one and 1000 odds. Had to love herself and the world called her undesirable and then paid gold to look like her.
Bless every nappy curl that stands up to greet the sun, the skin that absorbs the light, the lips that are thick enough to hold stories forged over generations.
Bless you. Black girl, the blueprint. Not a stepping stone but the cornerstone. Your existence is a reminder that without you, the building wouldn’ t exist.
