SONG: What if? Leahann“ La FemmeBear” Mitchell
I was free from prison, but not from the struggles or stigma of a formerly incarcerated woman. Most incarcerated women have experienced trauma throughout their lives, and that’ s why they ended up prison in the first place. It’ s a stark difference between the sexes when it comes to reentry. Women are not men. We develop and cope very differently than men do, and are prone to seek connections when trying to improve our lives.
Creating a space in which women feel safe and are able to foster these important connections is key to effective programming for re-entry. It will provide services that keep the entire family in mind in order to make sure this absence is filled and society can once again benefit from what women have to offer.

SONG: What if? Leahann“ La FemmeBear” Mitchell

What if you ran away? What if your heart said stay? What if your light could heal? What if your mind was real? What if your joy you steal? What would you do? Could you, just feel our love is true? What if the dream could change? What if your light could flame?
What if I’ m tired of words, yeah. All they ever do is hurt, yeah. What if my heart can’ t take it there? Stares right but it’ s okay, yeah. What if my armor’ s broken? No more string, still strong, yeah. What if I just don’ t try it? What if I’ m tired?
I finally found the words I put them all here in this song I hope your heart was open and listening all along
