I surround darkness, bolted tightly inside, forming an underground layer of skin, stretching like a dark mist. It has its own skeleton, yet is as intangible as my tethered soul. When you ask: who am I in the dark? I must ask in return, of which darkness do you speak? Do you speak of the dark that robs sight or of the one that rubs minds? Do you speak of the one that lives or of the one that spans time? Do you speak of the dark where the boogeyman lives, or of the one that shaped him?
Darkness was born as I, and grew as I lived. It was betrothed to my soul. As all life is born unto Earth, the matter was beyond my control. So do not ask who I am in the dark. Ask rather, what happens inside me. Then perhaps we can trade stories, of which I have so many to tell you.
