Never one to follow a crowd and a cut above your average designer,
Marc Jacobs is one of fashion’s foremost tastemakers.
THE MARC JACOBS STORY
After a controversial, now iconic grunge-inspired collection for Perry
Ellis in 1992, Marc
Jacobs set sail
at the helm of
his own ship,
with stellar
show after
stellar show from 1994 onwards. The rest,
as they say, is history: a lauded eponymous
label, the equally popular diffusion line,
Marc by Marc Jacobs, and 16 hugely
successful years as creative director of Louis
Vuitton’s women’s ready-to-wear. Marc
Jacobs is, has been and will surely continue
to be a highlight of New York Fashion Week
season on season.
THIS SEASON AT MARC JACOBS
The Spring/Summer 2015 shows saw Marc
Jacobs set the trend, making it clear that all
things military were to be firmly on our
radar, and in our wardrobe. Riffing off the
idea of fashion uniforms, the army-esque
pieces instantly became winning looks of
the season. A healthy dosage of Marc
magic, in the pronounced volumes and
elegant embellishments, took the overall
look from standard issue to standout
showstopper.
