VJCL President
My name is Necati Unsal , and I ' m your 2020-2021 VJCL President . You may have noticed something strange about my name , it ' s pronounced like Ne-Ja- Tee , not Ne-Ka-Tee ; and the grammarians reading this may have noticed that my name roughly translates to " those who have been killed " in Latin , which hopefully isn ' t a bad omen for my presidency :).
Since my election I ’ ve been busy working to fulfill my campaign promises as well as help my other officers . I got started with taking care of officer vacancies for Parliamentarian and Historian ( shout out to Elissa and Chloe ). After the vacancies were filled I went on to renew the committees of both our 1st VP Paige and our 2nd VP Lucy , heading the first Planning Meeting ( minutes of which are on the VJCL Website ), and starting the Club Spotlight as an alternative to Club of the Month with my fellow officers ( thanks for all the submissions showcased before in the Forum ). I also got started on the creation of a Certamen Committee to expand the accessibility and practice of Certamen throughout the state .
