My favorite memory from serving on the board so far has to be watching the results of the publications and scrapbook contests. As the results of these contests were being read I vividly remember all of the other VJCL officers celebrating both Reva and I for our achievements.
Even at fellowship the next morning so many people continued to congratulate us both on the results of the contest. through the shoutouts.. the whole experience was really surreal for me.
Do you have a JCL memory you'd like to share? Click on the yellow book to open up the form for the JCL Book Project! This project aims to collect the memories of JCLers and compile them into a large book full of our collective history as members of this organization. We strongly encourage you submit!
My favorite moment from this past year was making over 100 pancakes in the span of two hours with my local chapter. This happened at a Massaponax High School Latin Club meeting and was only made possible by the help of my former and current fellow officers on our local board. I still have pancake batter and cinnamon in my crocs.
I have so many great JCL memories from this year but my favorite memory has to be national convention. Fellowships really showed how VJCL was a close knit community, and it was a lot of fun watching VA do well in contests like spirit, publications and my personal, favorite, scrapbook!
For me, my favorite JCL memory from this past year was definitely running the VJCL Voting Fellowship at Nationals last summer. Even though it was online, talking with everybody about the candidates running for NJCL office and getting a chance to hear everyone's thoughts was a really incredible experience!
