WHAT HAPPENS AT A CHECK-UP?
Many parents aren ' t sure what we actually do during a routine appointment. Here ' s the process:
1. Visual Examination: We check every tooth, the gums, the tongue, and soft tissues for signs of decay, infection, trauma, or abnormalities.
2. X-Rays( When Needed): We don ' t take x-rays at every appointment. But when we do, it ' s because we need to see what ' s happening between teeth and under the gum line— areas we can ' t see visually.
3. Professional Clean: We remove plaque, tartar, and stains that regular brushing can ' t shift.
4. Fluoride Treatment: A concentrated fluoride application strengthens enamel and helps prevent cavities.
5. Assessment and Discussion: We talk to you about what we ' ve found, answer your questions, and create a plan if treatment is needed.
