Career spotlight is a special place to showase amazing women who have made successful careers for themselves through perserverance and passion! I caught up with my friend, Callie Ray Davis, who has smashed her glass ceiling as a Director Beauty Guide for the cosmetics and skincare company LimeLight by Alcone! She has already been promoted four times and is on track for another! With multiple awards and bonuses, she shared with me her keys to success!
VS: Tell me about your transition in moving from Myrtle Beach to California and becoming a LimeLight Extraordinaire.
CRD: My transition to California, and especially LimeLight were both very unexpected. Like most college graduates, I felt a little lost when I graduated. I did not have a secure job, and spent the next couple of years bouncing around from job to job in hopes of finding a career. When an opportunity to move to Los Angeles came into the picture, I felt like I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. Moving to California was the easy part, but getting settled proved to be a difficult task. As you can imagine, the job market in LA is fast paced and forever changing, and highly competitive. When a friend approached me about joining LimeLight, it seemed like the ideal fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and had made a little name for myself freelancing makeup for pageants, proms, and weddings.
