A Sitka Food Tour

After wrapping up a day of adventure, or for a quick bite while sightseeing, Sitka’ s food scene has plenty to offer. With options that include fresh fusion and classic seafood, here are some great spots to try while in town:
FRESH FUSION
Craving something creative and packed with local flavors? Start at Red Herring, where Alaska-style BBQ meets innovative dishes like smoked Alaska venison or a local snow crab roll. For a true taste of the ocean, head over to The Fresh Fish and dig into a signature poke bowl or a trio of fresh Alaska seafood tacos. Looking for a fusion twist? Enoki Eatery serves up Asian-inspired dishes like steam buns and musubi, blended with fresh, local ingredients. Top it all off with a pastry or macaron from WildFlour Cafe & Bakery— specializing in savory dishes and small-batch French baked goods.
CLASSIC SEAFOOD SPOTS
You can’ t visit Alaska without trying some locally-caught seafood! Showcasing a great view of Crescent Harbor while you eat, the Bayview Pub is a great place to get either rockfish or halibut fish and chips. If shellfish is more of your thing, go to Halibut Point Crab & Chowder— they have local King and Dungeness crab to crack. Or if you’ d like to sit dockside, head to the Galley Restaurant for creative seafood specials like Macadamia Nut Halibut.
PUB CRAWL
For all of you night owls, Sitka has its fair share of pubs with a surprising array of delicious food to go along with your hoppy ale.
Right in the heart of downtown is Ernie’ s Old Time Saloon, featuring Karaoke and local food trucks right out the back door. Around the corner on Katlian Street is the Pioneer Bar, a local watering hole full of fisherman vibes( and yummy deep-fried halibut). If pizza is more of your scene, head to Campfire Kitchen at Harbor Mountain Brewing, where you can pair a wood-fired pizza with a locally-crafted brew.
