This winery puts planet-friendly practices first — starting with the grapes , which are grown sustainably by local farmers . But the eco-conscious checkmarks don ’ t stop there : The wine is made using only natural ingredients and with low-intervention methods . The packaging uses recycled glass and recyclable corks made from sugar-cane waste . All food waste is composted , and the unused grape matter from wine production is repurposed as natural fertilizer for the farms .

Baltimore ’ s largest meeting space has committed to sustainability in lots of ways — so much so , in fact , that it has achieved third-party certification as a venue that meets specifications for the APEX / ASTM Green Meeting Standard . Highlights of the BCC ’ s sustainability efforts include a 27,000-square-foot green roof and a donation program that diverts usable items to local Baltimore organizations . In 2022 , the center donated more than 17.6 tons , including 6.5 tons to a local pig farm , 3.4 tons of food donations to nonprofits and 6.5 tons of compost . They also diverted 368.109 tons of trash from landfills through their recycling and composting programs .
