AND THE BEAT GOES ON...
AND THE BEAT GOES ON...
To fully immerse audiences in the B-Side, Visit Baltimore tapped into the theme across a series of events, all featuring local voices, businesses and creatives.
BRINGING THE B-SIDE TO CUSTOMERS
Our Sales team welcomed 122 customers to a B-Side Block Party in Washington, D. C., featuring music curated by B-Side anthem contributor John Tyler and hands-on activations like DJ demos with Raise Nation DMV and a live mural painting by Baltimore-based business Okay Everything. Food and drink stations featuring Benny’ s, Bunny’ s Buckets & Bubbles, CAnE Collective, Crust by Mack, Mera Kitchen Collective and Jollof Bowl brought a taste of Baltimore’ s diverse neighborhoods.
REACHING OUR CITY’ S STORYTELLERS
The Communications team hosted the annual Storyteller Soiree to connect marketers, storytellers and partners who shape Baltimore’ s evolving story. Held at at Motor House, the event uplifted the B-Side and gave guests insight on upcoming major milestones including Sail250, AFRAM’ s 50th and the 200th anniversary of the American railroad.
SHARING OUR STORY WITH BALTIMORE
Visit Baltimore collaborated with Stoop Storytelling for a special B-Side-themed event. Five community storytellers( including Visit Baltimore President & CEO Kireem Swinton) took the stage at the Baltimore Museum of Industry to share their personal experience of the deeper, richer side of the city. The audience enjoyed performances by musicians featured on the B-Side track and Baltimore-inspired bites from H3irloom Food Group. The event also served as a softlaunch of the B-Side Records mobile visitor center.
B-SIDE HAS NO BOUNDARIES
Using the B-Side to capture the spirit of the city, Visit Baltimore worked with Create Baltimore to commission an original mural. Local artist LaToya Peoples was selected to create the piece inspired by both the B-Side and the residents of Druid Heights. Visit Baltimore also partnered with the No Boundaries Coalition and the Black Arts District on a neighborhood block party at the site of the new mural, a testament to the grassroots pride that exists across the city as well as the true power of community.
