CIAA SALES FAM
During the 2025 CIAA Basketball Tournament, the Visit Baltimore sales team held a FAM with eight meetings and event professionals considering Baltimore for their future meetings. They consisted of planners who love college basketball or represented multicultural groups and / or alumni from HBCUs. In addition to basketball games, FAM guests attended the Charm City Welcome Reception, CIAA Women’ s Empowerment Brunch, step shows, events at Power Plant Live! and so much more. They also attended a happy hour reception at the Pendry to network with the hotel community and a breakfast at the Hilton Inner Harbor, which was followed by a city tour.

Visit Baltimore hosted seven Black journalists from several top tier publications, including BET. com, Essence, Ebony, Travel Noire and more during the CIAA Tournament. We also included local content creator Brian Oliver aka BeyondBmore to capture the FAM.
As a result of this press trip, we earned multiple stories reaching close to 16 million readers and representing $ 150,000 in equivalent ad value. The coverage highlights businesses featured in the itinerary, including culinary experiences( The Urban Oyster, Yebo Kitchen, The Empanada Lady, The Garden Rooftop, Rooted Rotisserie), shopping( MESS in a Bottle), art( Creatively Black Baltimore, Dear Black Girl) and, of course, the CIAA championship game.
