Welcoming the Sports Customer Advisory Board and Focus Group

In May 2023 , the team hosted a sports-focused Customer Advisory Board ( CAB ). This session brought together a diverse group of sporting event planners and CEOs from organizations such as USA Volleyball , USA Fencing , Team Travel Source , MADE Hoops Basketball , the NCAA , CIAA , Varsity Spirit and Junior Volleyball Association .
Clients were welcomed with a night at Topgolf , then learned about our new development projects in Baltimore , took a Water Taxi ride , toured Sagamore Spirit Distillery , enjoyed a crab feast , spent time with our Mayor at the Preakness Stakes and danced in the rain during the Bruno Mars concert .
We strengthened relationships and built new ones , closing four new citywides with MADE Hoops shortly after this trip with a total EIC of more than $ 14 million . With the CAB ’ s guidance we identified opportunities in a variety of areas that will shape future services for the sports market .

BTID Funds Additional Safety and Security

The Visit Baltimore team started working with a group of local hotel security leaders to manage additional safety patrols for citywide and convention center events as well as high demand time periods and large public events such as Fourth of July and Memorial Day weekends . So far , our groups and hotel partners have been pleased with these patrols .
