The Visit Baltimore sales team conducted 42 appointments at IPW , where they connected with tour operators , wholesalers , retailers , consortia and experts in domestic leisure travel . This show gave us the opportunity to promote direct flights on Condor from Germany , British Airways from London Heathrow , Air Canada , Iceland Air and Play .
First Community Sales Training with Hotels
At PCMA Convening Leaders , Visit Baltimore sponsored a session , “ Turning Allyship into Action : Integrating Equity , Inclusion , Belonging and Diversity into Business Events ,” and afterwards hosted a book signing with the speaker and author Deanna Singh where the team promoted our Warm Welcome program .
The Preakness Stakes provides an amazing opportunity to showcase Baltimore to customers . The target audience is association and corporate CEOs and meeting planners of top prospect and tentative citywide accounts . Guests were invited to Baltimore for a two-night VIP stay with some additional time to experience our great city , including a Water Taxi tour and a crab feast . The planners in attendance represented eight prospect and six tentative business opportunities representing 141,440 total room nights .
At sales missions in Washington , DC and Chicago , the team met with citywide and in-house customers to drive new business opportunities and to gain commitment for tentative business . Events were hosted at venues strategically chosen to help tell the expanding development story in Baltimore : an Under Armour Brand House breakfast reception in Chicago , a Top Golf event in the suburbs of Chicago and an evening reception at Duck Duck Goose in DC .
In order to strengthen the collaborative relationship between Visit Baltimore and the hotel community , Visit Baltimore held the first Visit Baltimore sales process training with hotel employees including general managers , directors of sales and sales managers . This training covered the sales team ’ s day-to-day work on leads , Baltimore Convention Center ( BCC ) process , bid books and more to help build understanding of the meetings and conventions bid process . The first session had more than ten hotel properties participate as well as the BCC team . Visit Baltimore plans to offer this opportunity again in the future to new hotel sales managers so that we can all continue to work together seamlessly .
