OLD BAY PRESENTS BALTIMORE RESTAURANT WEEK
Baltimore Restaurant Week is one of the region ’ s oldest and largest restaurant weeks . The popular promotion , produced jointly by Downtown Partnership of Baltimore ( DPOB ) and Visit Baltimore , offers discounted , prix fixe menus meant to shine a spotlight on local restaurants and the city ’ s amazing culinary scene . In 2020 , occupancy limitations forced a focus on carryout so in 2021 , both diners and restaurants alike were eager to return after a tough year .
For more than 75 years , Old Bay ’ s distinctive blend of 18 herbs and spices has been a time-honored taste for Baltimoreans . And this year , Old Bay wanted to give back to the tastemakers and chefs who continue to elevate the food and flavors of our region . Thanks to Old Bay ’ s presenting sponsorship , DPOB and Visit Baltimore were able to invest in greater promotion of Restaurant Week rather than relying solely on registration fees , which were significantly reduced this year .
The official flavor of Maryland summer also provided diners with a chance to win exclusive Old Bay prizes through “ The Great Old Bay Crab Hunt ,” an augmented reality game designed to get Marylanders outside and visiting cultural gems and attractions throughout the region . In recognition of Restaurant Week , Old Bay extended their Crab Hunt and added more Baltimore businesses and attractions to its game . Together , these two promotions drew foodies and Old Bay fans , in a safe way , back to businesses after a long year hiatus .
Visit Baltimore and Old Bay also partnered with Foreman Wolf , Canopy by Hilton Baltimore Harbor Point and Cindy Lou ’ s Fish House in hosting a Baltimore Restaurant Week Launch Party for a group of social media influencers who helped promote the occasion to their audiences . The collaboration was such a hit , Old Bay even sponsored free rides on the Baltimore Water Taxi throughout the last weekend of Restaurant Week , encouraging diners to stay and play .
