GUINNESS OPEN GATE BREWERY CREATES MORE PATHWAYS FOR BIPOC TALENT
When Visit Baltimore ’ s Education & Training Foundation was forced to put its Diversity Apprenticeship Program on hold , Guinness Open Gate Brewery came up with the investment needed to keep this program alive for many years to come . This unprecedented act of generosity is just one of the many steps the brewery has taken since its opening to demonstrate its unwavering support for Black lives and the fight against social injustice .
BIPOC ( Black , Indigenous and People of Color ) talent and leadership is vastly underrepresented in the travel and craft beer industries . Thanks to Guinness , the Diversity Apprenticeship Program has been reimagined to promote career interest in the hospitality and craft beer industries among minority students , with a focus on introducing paths at the management level . The 600-hour paid apprenticeship guarantees employment upon completion with Visit Baltimore or a partner organization . There are three different apprentice tracks ( marketing , sales and operations ) that each offer their own customized hands-on experience at Visit Baltimore , Guinness Open Gate Brewery and other tourism entities throughout the city .
Thank you to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery team for their unwavering support in creating more pathways for underrepresented populations within the travel and tourism space .
