LADIES Congratulations to the 2017 Ladies Fours Champions: Sue Kaufmann, Shirley Little, Marie Batterson and Narelle Harvey. The KMRSL Ladies have nominated entries in the District Pairs and Triples Competitions. The Ladies Club has also entered a team in the District Grade 4 Pennant Competition, which will be played in March and April, hoping to reach the Zone playoffs at South West Rocks in May. A Friendship Day will be held at the Bowlo on the 1st May with all Clubs in the District invited to Celebrate our special day. Club Championship Singles and Pairs will be played in April, May and June with expected cooler weather a welcome relief. Good bowling everyone!
MENS PENNANTS: The club has entered three grades for the upcoming season commencing on Saturday, 4th March.( Grades 3, 6 & 7) Pennant players are asked to endeavour to play or roll up several days per week with training each Friday evening between 4:30 and 6:30pm.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS: All Men’ s and Mixed Championship draws are posted near the notice board. All play on or before dates are displayed on each draw sheet. Players should, where possible and by mutual agreement, try to play games earlier than scheduled dates. Congratulations to the 2017 Club Fours Champions, Gavin Kennedy, Terry Batterson, Shane Fuller and Peter Lynch who defeated Tony Steele, Larry Bottles, Dave
Leeder and Neil McCudden in a tight final. Further congratulations to the 2017 Men’ s Club Triples Champions, Shane Fuller, Dave Leeder and Neil McCudden who defeated Gavin Kennedy, Ron Kennedy and Terry Batterson. By the time this goes to print, the Men’ s Minor Singles will have been played- a grudge match between uncle Dave Turnbull and his nephew Lachlan Cooper.
TOURNAMENTS: Anyone interested in our Easter Triples on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April with a prizemoney of $ 5,100, contact Rocky on 0447778271 as entries are filling up. Also the Bowlo will be holding a Fours Tournament on Friday 26th, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May with $ 6,600 in prizemoney, again contact Rocky on 0447778271.
AUSTRALIA DAY: 53 bowlers had a wonderful time celebrating Australia Day at the Bowlo. A very social game of bowls with some comical bowling uniforms was followed by a BBQ. A very enjoyable day was had by all.
VISITATION: A group of 40 Travelling Bowlers from Port Macquarie visited the Bowlo on Sunday 26th February. All bowlers enjoyed the fun day.
