Collaboration between schools A strong emphasis was placed on international cooperation and collaborative planning. Teachers maintained consistent communication through WhatsApp, email, TwinSpace, and Zoom to ensure a wellorganized workflow. Monthly tasks were co-developed, and responsibilities shared evenly among partners. These included organizing student activities, managing digital content, and evaluating progress. Students worked in multinational teams, engaging in meaningful tasks that allowed them to share ideas, analyse global environmental issues, and develop joint solutions. The collaborative spirit was the backbone of the project, fostering a sense of unity and global citizenship.
Use of digital tools and technology Technology played a central role in both the creation and dissemination of content. Students used Padlet to express their ideas, Canva for designing visuals, Vidnoz to produce AI-generated avatars, and Heyzine to craft interactive digital magazines. Surveys were designed and analysed using Google Forms, with results displayed graphically to enhance understanding.
All digital content was uploaded to TwinSpace and shared via school social media channels, increasing the visibility and impact of the project. Ethical digital behaviour was a consistent theme, with attention given to copyright compliance and responsible internet use. Only Creative Commons-licensed materials were used, and all personal data handling was done with parental permission.
Pedagogical approaches The project embraced a student-centred, experiential learning philosophy. Learners were encouraged to explore, create, and reflect through real-world tasks such as calculating ecological footprints, mapping cultural identities, and producing natureinspired artwork. Refugee students contributed their own nature-related narratives, adding depth and diversity to collaborative products.
A field trip to the Kızılırmak Delta Bird Sanctuary offered students a unique opportunity to observe nature first-hand. They kept journals, checked water quality, and learned about bird tagging practices. Experiencing open-air learning with peers helped them connect with nature deeply, through seeing, doing, and questioning.
Curricular Integration One of the project ' s strengths was its interdisciplinary nature, connecting subjects such as science, social studies, ICT, English, visual arts, and Turkish. Each activity was thoughtfully aligned with national curriculum objectives, ensuring smooth integration into everyday teaching. Students investigated sustainability topics through inquiry-based science tasks, practiced digital storytelling in English classes, and created environmentally themed posters in visual arts.
Through these cross-curricular connections, students not only enhanced their academic skills but also developed a deeper understanding of shared responsibility and civic engagement.
