Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2025 Newsletter
developing essential competences through authentic experiences. The combination of institutional support, structured implementation, and community resources creates optimal conditions for transformative learning. The journey requires institutional commitment and sustained effort, but the rewards( i. e. globally competent teachers, for instance) justify this investment.
My early experiences confirm eTwinning ' s transformative potential as student teachers ' initial hesitation transforms into enthusiasm for the international connections. As an eTwinning ITE teacher you can see the growth in confidence and competence in your students, and this compensates the effort required for implementing these projects successfully.
At the same time, this visible growth inspires you to continue dedicating efforts to expanding international opportunities in teacher education beyond eTwinning ITE, as with Erasmus + professional stays, or other international opportunities that your university might offer.
For teacher educators considering eTwinning ITE, the platform provides tools and a growing community for preparing globally competent teachers. It opens doors to resources enriching teacher preparation programs immeasurably. Most importantly, it shapes professional identities as collaborative, internationally minded educators. The investment provides returns extending far from individual courses to transform entire programs and the careers of countless future teachers. There is clear evidence
supporting this, and there are steps already established one can follow to join a community that awaits new members. The question is not whether to integrate eTwinning or not. The question is how quickly we can provide these experiences to all future teachers.
I hope this article inspires exploration of eTwinning ITE at your institution or your Alma mater. Student teachers deserve to be trained for the interconnected world they will be teaching in. You can start today by contacting your National Support Organization if you are working at an ITE university or by informing your former professors( in case they do not know about this yet). This little change in ITE will be impacting countless future generations.
