Bridging Formal and Non-Formal Education with eTwinning and Europeana: A Creative Competition for Health and Wellbeing by Daniela Bunea

Between 8 April and 9 May 2025, members of the eTwinning Featured Group Health and Wellbeing in Education, which I proudly moderate, were invited to take part in a unique competition celebrating the inspiring ways in which Europeana’ s vast digital cultural heritage can support education by skilfully enriching teaching and learning for wellbeing.
Europeana is one of eTwinning’ s supportive partners— opening up endless possibilities for educators, researchers, culture enthusiasts, and creatives to reuse cultural heritage resources in innovative ways. Whether designing new learning materials, sparking fresh areas of research, or creating wonderful art, challenging games, and meaningful projects, Europeana’ s rich collections empower us to reach our goals for the health and wellbeing of our students and ourselves.
During this contest, our group members explored these selected Europeana Learning Scenarios connected to health and wellbeing topics curated on the Teaching with Europeana blog:- M. Isabel Vila Figueroa’ s Lift the Lid on Mental Health;- Emilia Marina Alexe’ s Our Healthy Life;- Beljana Ilieva’ s Food Tests;- Barbara Legutko’ s Do you like fruit and vegetables?;- Leticia Gil ' s " There is nothing more beautiful than laughter " Frida Kahlo;- Csilla Nemeth ' s The Art of Happiness;- Anita Matic ' s From reading to inclusion;- Ana Mendes ' Young leaders for peace;- Laurentina Soares ' Climate change and wellbeing;- Marijana Trinajstic ' s A person is looking for an author;- Sophia Kouzouli ' s It takes a village;- Patricia Barciela ' s Bites: when nutrition meets SDGs;- Sanja Zdralovic ' s Health Alliance: Mens Sana in Corpore Sano;- Carmen Alexandra Miricioiu ' s Healthy Choices;- Alina Mirela Popa ' s Spiritual Camino de Santiago French Way – UNESCO HERITAGE;- Ayrton Curmi ' s Connecting with the Environment Using Our Senses;- Christabelle Scerri ' s Enjoying the Moment through Our Five Senses.
