A Better Tomorrow by Murièle Dejaune

“ Un demain meilleur” is an eTwinning / Erasmus + project which lasted a whole school year. It has allowed more than 230 students and teachers from two high schools in France, three in Italy, two in Spain, one in Romania, one in Estonia, one in Portugal, and one in Cyprus to work in French on a collaborative theme of the environment and learn how to reduce their carbon footprint in order to protect the planet. They worked together on the TwinSpace where each one could login to work and share their ideas.
We started the project by creating a word cloud with the words which came to our students’ minds when they heard the title“ A better tomorrow”. Then each class elected a logo and proposed it to the whole TwinSpace participants, and they voted for the project logo.
This project enabled our students to think about the code of conduct to have when you are on internet. A collaborative book was created with their rules to respect.
In international teams, our students chose a month of the year, so twelve teams were created, and they shared in twelve word clouds the fruits and the vegetables of their respective months. In the forum of the TwinSpace they presented recipes with fruits and vegetables of their months in order to create with those low carbon footprint recipes a cookbook. So no recipes with meat!
Our objectives were to raise awareness of the environmental impact of what we eat and also about cultural and linguistic diversity regarding food in order to create a shared cookbook and almanac that will be distributed among partner institutions.
Our next activity was to share our idioms which used fruits or vegetables in our different languages in a collaborative wall. In another collaborative tool, they posted drawings or images created with IA which illustrating those idioms. Our students had to read the idioms and their explanations
