Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2023 Newsletter
Building global connections The project , which started in November 2022 and ended in June 2023 , served as a platform for collaboration and the exchange of ideas between participating schools . Through digital communication tools and interactive activities , students were encouraged to explore environmental issues , share their perspectives and critical awareness , and work collectively to find solutions .
Students started the project by knowing each other better – introductions and messaging through the forum in TwinSpace . Then they got to know the SDGs and their progress in each partner country , which led to the need of finding solutions that the students , school and / or community could implement .
The first approach to these topics was made meanwhile celebrating Human Rights Day , where students were questioned if they have ever thought the SDGs might be a human rights issue . Then for Christmas and New Year they were challenged to create postcards sending wishes regarding sustainable development issues . On Earth Day , students planned for and challenged the whole school to take action ( e . g . committing to actions , speaking up , contests and volunteering ).
Promoting environmental awareness Focusing on raising awareness of various environmental challenges and the importance of sustainable practices , students participated in educational activities covering a wide range of topics including climate change , waste management , renewable energy and biodiversity conservation .
Collaborative initiatives One of the highlights of the project was the extremely good collaboration of the schools involved , which resulted in the development of numerous creative joint initiatives ( e . g . collage of postcards highlighting the relationship between the SDGs and human rights , ebook with Christmas / New Year wishes , presentations ). Students from different countries formed international teams and collaborated on green projects that addressed local and global environmental concerns .
These initiatives aimed to promote tangible changes in their schools and communities , fostering a sense of responsibility and active citizenship among students and the school community .
